The meeting of a new Chapter of BTW, was at Ryan's Steakhouse, in Springfield, Mo. The meeting was called to order at 4:05 P.M. by the "MIssouri State Director" Sheri (Maw) Ducker. Nineteen interested people attended the meeting. Sheri, welcomed all, thanked eveyone for attending and she asked all to say who they were and where they were from.
It was explained to the group by Sheri, what measures must be taken to set up a new Chapter. The most important is someone to step forward as the Interim Director. Rick Arthur, volunteered to do so. Rick, was warmly thanked.
Next Jerry (Paw) Ducker, further explained that the two offices of recording Secretary and Tresurer must be filled. When a treasury is established, it is best to set up a non-profit bank account with two signatures. Nominations or volunteers for these positions are open to anyone who may be interested. An assistant director isn't necessary but is good for a Chapter to have another person willing to help out the Director. Other positions that can be filled are: Sargent-at Arms, Newsletter Editor, Activities Coordinator, Road Captain, Webmaster, Sunshine Person, etc. Jerry, urged all to think about what type of a role each may wish to take.
Diana Arthur, said she will check with restaurants in the area to locate a meeting place. She will make a report with her findings, at the next gathering.
It was asked if a name should be given to the new Chapter. Jerry (Paw) Ducker, suggested "Route 66 Trikers." This will be further discussed and others should bring any other suggestions.
The application for the new Chapter was signed by all in attendance and this will be submitted to the BTW, headquarters.
The next meeting will be on Sunday, November 19th, starting at 4:00 P.M. and again at Ryan's Steakhouse, at 1950 E. Kearny in Springfield, Mo.
To close Sheri, thanked everyone for the wonderful turnout and great participation. She told all to come back next month and bring a friend or family member. Thank you DJ, Sheri
